Graduate Heritage Consultant

Location: UK / Remote
Salary: £28-34,000

We’re seeking a Graduate Heritage Consultant to join our friendly archaeology and heritage team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career heritage professional with either an Undergraduate or Masters Level degree who wants to work within consultancy. You will gain valuable skills while working on a wide range of projects across the UK. You will support the delivery of high-quality heritage advice for planning and development, with clear opportunities for career progression.

 

This role is home-based with travel to site. You’ll receive mentoring and support from experienced consultants as you build confidence and experience in professional heritage practice.

 

The role will include:

  • Preparing and assisting with Heritage Statements, Statements of Significance and Impact Assessments

  • Contributing heritage chapters and inputs to Environmental Statements (EIA)

  • Researching and assessing historic buildings and heritage assets

  • Undertaking site visits and setting assessments

  • Supporting planning and listed building consent applications

  • Working collaboratively with archaeologists, planners and environmental specialists

 

About you:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Historic Buildings, Building Conservation, Architectural History, or a related heritage discipline AND/OR

  • Master’s Degree (or working towards completion) in Historic Buildings, Building Conservation, Architectural History, or a related heritage discipline

  • Excellent research, analytical and report writing skills

  • Interest in UK planning policy, heritage legislation and the management of the historic environment

  • A careful, detail-oriented approach with good organisational skills

  • Organised, proactive and keen to learn

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Full UK driving license
